I Tried Watching 100 Movies I'd Never Seen Before in 2019

Happy New Year, everyone! This year was filled with a lot of great memories. I visited a few museums, got a rabbit, photographed a wedding, and traveled as close as Burlington, VT and as far as Reykjavík, Iceland. However, most of my time was spent teaching high schoolers TV Production, Film Production, and Broadcast Journalism. At the end of last year, one of my students and I decided to start a challenge. We wanted to try to watch 100 movies that we had never seen before 2019 was over.

100 movies kind of seems like a lot, right?? But if you break it down, it’s less than 2 movies a week. That’s not bad. I was confident at the beginning of the 2019 that I could complete this! So, did I finish this challenge?

No. I only ended up watching 59 movies. It was so much harder than I expected! Mostly because I really enjoy TV shows. I find them easier to watch because they end every 20 mins, 30 mins, or 45 mins. I watched a lot of TV shows in 2019 (especially Law & Order: SVU, but that’s for another post) so it was hard to keep up with the 100 movies. I’m definitely going to try this challenge again for 2020 and really try to keep up with it!

Here’s a list of the 59 movies that I watched for the first time:
